Grace, mercy, and peace to you!
1 Timothy 1:2
The sacramental marriage celebrated in the Catholic Church is one in which two persons vow and consent to live a life together that is faith-filled, permanent, faithful, and life-giving. Respecting the newness normally found in relationship building, and the time needed to strengthen and adjust to a new family lifestyle, a period of preparation is provided. Every couple is asked to consider the qualities of their relationship, and their individual and couple strengths already active. The Catholic church encourages the couple to take the opportunity to develop couple-strategies to help guarantee their success, and to asses their readiness to freely make a lifetime commitment to one another with God’s help.
So if you are engaged to be married - congratulations! St. Tim's is here to help you through the preparation and to celebrate this very important and special day with you. Couples are requested to contact the parish at least six months, and preferably one year, in advance of their anticipated wedding to begin the process of marriage preparation. Please do not send out your “save the date” announcement or arrange your wedding date with reception halls, etc prior to this first meeting. We request that you call the parish office at 763.784.1329 to make an initial appointment with Deacon Joe Frederick.
If you would like to be part of our marriage ministry by acting as a mentor couple for one of our engaged couples, please contact Deacon Joe at the parish office.
