Grace, mercy, and peace to you!
1 Timothy 1:2
As Catholic Christians, we are called to continually grow in our faith. Faith formation is a life-long journey that does not end with confirmation! The Church of St. Timothy offers a variety of opportunities for adult parishioners from 18 to 108 to deepen in our Catholic faith, growing in relationship with God and with one another.
Scroll down to read details about the following opportunities for adults to grow in faith, share prayer, offer service, and build community together as disciples of Jesus.
The St. Tim's Book Club for Adults is a great way to learn, meet other parishioners, and discussion the intersection of life and faith. The club meets on the first Monday of each month from October through May (note that in January the group will gather on the second Monday due to the New Year's Day holiday). The group meets from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the parish center in October and November, on Zoom December through March, and in the parish center in April and May.
The book for each month will be announced in parish communications channels (website, bulletin, Facebook, and email newsletter) several weeks before the club meets.
Are you looking to learn more about the issue of race and the impact it has on different aspects of our lives? Would you like to learn how to live more justly and what our Catholic faith calls us to do regarding advocating for people suffering injustice? The Racial Justice Study Group will use reading materials, documentaries, and may occasionally be able to attend speaker events. As this group is just forming, times and dates are not set but may likely occur monthly on a Sunday afternoon at an off-campus location AND/OR via an online discussion group. To find out more and express your interest in this group, contact Cindy Novak in the parish office.
Join other adults for a week-long service trip along the southern border. This trip will take place January 27 to February 4, 2024. Participants will serve at two organizations that assist asylum-seekers/immigrants after they are cleared to enter the United States and before they join their sponsor.
Grow in your faith through service, prayer, and by being the hands and feet of Jesus. Registration will take place in the fall with a deadline for commitment by November 1, 2023. Contact Cindy Novak at cnovak@churchofsttimothy.com for additional information and plan to attend an informational meeting September 24, 2023 (9:30-10:15 a.m.) or September 26, 2023 (6:30 -7:15 p.m.).

While these opportunities are open to all adults in the parish, parents dropping their children and youth off for faith formation on Tuesdays and Wednesday may find these sessions most convenient. In the span of one hour over three to four weeks, we will cover a specific focus area through a short presentation and discussion, with time for socializing and prayer, too. Scroll down to see the schedule.
Note: on Tuesdays, two sessions are offered: one at 5:15 p.m., the other at 7:00 p.m. On Wednesdays, one session is offered at 6:30 p.m.

Enjoy a potluck meal with other adults as you discuss contemporary faith issues over a three to four week period. You will have a short reading assignment prior to the meeting (typically a 10-15 minute read) which will be the basis for your conversation. Groups can choose to meet on-site in the parish center or in members’ homes.
Groups will form at various times throughout the year. Watch this website and parish communications channels (bulletin, email newsletter, and Facebook) for opportunities to register.
