SACRAMENTS
Our goal in preparation for the Sacraments is Communion with Jesus Christ. Preparation aids us in entering into the mystery of Christ, to encounter him, and to discover yourself and the meaning of your life in Christ. The National Catechetical Directory puts it this way;

"At the heart of catechesis (preparation) we find, in essence, a Person, the Person of Jesus of Nazareth, ' the only Son from the Father... full of grace and truth,' who suffered and died for us and who now after rising, is living with us forever."

We see sacraments as those special times in which we can share the message and life of Jesus Christ. Through the preparation and participation in the sacraments our hope is to fill the individuals and families with the presence of Christ so that they go out and share that same Jesus Christ in their lives.

Click on a specific sacrament for more information or contact the parish at 763-784-1329 if you have any questions about any of the sacraments.  You may also click on a contact's name to email them:

Sacraments of Initiations
  Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation are the Sacraments that we first encounter upon entering the Church. The initial conversion to the message and life of Jesus Christ is the primary purpose of these Sacraments. You can enter these sacraments at any time in your life, but many enter these Sacraments as children and youth. We truly believe that our sacraments are about community and family and we celebrate and prepare for our sacraments in families and in our community.

    First Communions are celebrated at our usual Mass times over two weekends:  April 25 & 26 and May 2 & 3.  Once a child is prepared, parents may select which Mass and weekend they prefer for their child's First Communion.  Please see the preparation classes under Faith Formation - Elementary

Sacraments of Healing
  Reconciliation
    Families preparing a child for First Reconciliation celebrate this sacrament for the first time in a special group service with family and friends in November.  Please see preparation classes under Faith Formation - Elementary
    We offer the Sacrament of Reconciliation on Saturdays after Mass or by appointment with the Priest.  Further, each grade level is given an opportunity during the year to participate in the Sacrament.    We also have seasonal services for the community.
  Anointing of the Sick
    The ritual of anointing approved by the National Conference of Bishops stats that the Sacrament of Anointing is for "those of the faithful whose health is seriously impaired by illness or old age.  Elderly people may be anointed if they have become totally weakened even though no serious illness is present."  It is important not to equate advanced years with poor health.  Whenever a serious illness or disability is a reason for surgery, you may request anointing.  To celebrate the Sacrament of Anointing with family and friends, call the Parish Office.  The parish schedules occasional communal celebrations fro the Anointing of the Sick.  Information is provided through the bulletin.
    The sacrament is celebrated with those whose health is in a serious condition, either physical or psychological.  Please call the Parish Office if someone is in the hospital.
Sacraments of Commitment
  Marriage

A sacramental marriage is one in which two persons vow to live a life of marital friendship that is permanent, faithful, and life giving.  A period of preparation is provided for the couple to seriously consider the quality of their relationship and their readiness to freely make a lifetime commitment to one another.

Couples are encouraged to contact the Parish at least six months or preferably one year in advance of the wedding.  Call the parish Office to make an appointment.

Our Parish staff will also assist persons with marriage-related issues such as validation(blessing) for a previous marriage outside the Church, significant marriage anniversary celebrations (25th, 50th, etc), or annulments.  Call the Parish Office to discuss these concerns.
